KSL Kupferschiefer Lausitz GmbH

KSL Kupferschiefer Lausitz is a German mining company headquartered in Spremberg. It is wholly owned subsidiary of the international mining corporation Minera S.A., that specializes in the exploration and mining of precious and base metals.

The exploration phase, which began in 2009 with exploratory drilling was successfully completed with the seismic early 2011. Now, the KSL is in the planning and approval phase for the mine. For this purpose it is currently conducting a technical and economic Pre-Feasibility Study. At the same time approval is sought for the life of mine plan, which includes the environmental impact assessment. The production of copper ore is planned after the planning approval and construction of the mine at the end of the decade.
